Mirror mirror!!
mirror O mirror, tell me who is the prettiest of them all?mirror is an interesting way of reflecting upon yourself... you come face to face with the being around whom your life revolves- YOU! and then you ask all these questions when you face yourself.... And the answer that they get is what their reality is. Your reality of existance and life is made up by what you see when you look at the reflection in the mirror.
What others think of you could also be a reality, and could certainly affect your reality if you let it, however that reality is not yours. It is their reality, in relation to you. Just like the way you perceive someone else is your reality in relation to that person and not necessarily that persons reality.
Often one, tending to be a social creature tries to blend one's own reality with the reality of this society, the people. Although I have always tried not to, I cant say that at some point or other I havent tried to 'fit in' - try to judge my reflection in terms of the influences of the society and world. But I have come to realise that.. to seek what one always seeks throughout one's existance- happiness.... what one sees in one's reflection should be unaffected by all those influences, it must remain pure... because that is what forms ones life... it is the base of ones life ... it is the core... and if that is affected, corrupted then the whole being, one's life, one's reality..everything is corrupted...
but it always slips by... something somewhere always slips by... and it is always corrupted... and i wonder then how is one to find happiness if the base of the structure has been weakened by corruption?

if u r under illusion then also u may be thinking that u r getting your reality
ur understanding of ur reality depends on the level of ur intellect which varies but ur reality always remains same
u r always uncorrupt whether u try to fit in society's model or try to be what u want.
have u ever observed children?
when they r abiding by their's parents wish(whether due to fear or respect or love) do they ever become corrupt?
we all r like children in this drama of wordly afairs
u have said correctly that we all seek happiness throughout our lives
this is the reality
whether we r happy by becoming what society expects from us is secondary
What others think of you is sometimes right if you introspect on that thing. It is not always what you think that you are. Sometimes others can show you the real you.
Humans are social animals. They need to blend with the society and for this is is neccessary to blend yourself with the society. It is not wrong to do upto the stage that you don't forget the real you.

Let me put my thoughts on what you have said here.
When you look into a mirror you just see one view of yourself...the view interpreted by your mind of yourself.
There are three perspective ways of looking at the same person ...be it be me , u or anyone else.
First perspective is what that person thinks about him/herself( this view is always biased by self esteem,pride,etc or/and by how much your mind is affected by others opinion and behaviour with you) .....Second perspective is what people think of u (this is marred by their own biases and personal issues and hence each person will/may have different opnion about who you are....
The third perspective is how god sees you. (Just kep this third view in mind.......i`ll get back to this viewpoint later).
hmm...so, I have always felt that my conscience has tried to guide me to the righteous path.....but I do not choose that because my mind jumps in and makes the final decision...... This again raises a question.....Who am I ?.......
1) Am I the guy who thinks like my conscience but is forced by the mind to take into account society and practical issues and so acts accordingly OR
2)I am the guy who actually makes the wise decision using my brain and goes ahead with it ignoring the conscience.
Well sometimes I feel very happy to do what my brain tells me to and just ignore my conscience......and sometimes when I try to ignore my conscience it pinches my heart....and it hurts......and so i decide otherwise.
So in reality man cannot be judged by his deeds alone.
So again I come to your question ... and my answer to it is that, its not that the man chooses to get corrupted or that the man can even stop this corruption. It is just a game between your mind and your soul. Sometime your mind wins and sometimes your soul. I believe, we never try to care about who won and why ? Neither does this world. Everybody just judges people by their deeds, though, the war between mind and soul is going on inside everybody.
Now I come back to the third perspective i.e what god sees when he looks at us. I believe god actually sees the fight between the mind and the conscience of a person and he looks at the graveness of the decisions a person chooses to make. And that is what determines who you REALLY ARE.
Looking back at it, now it seems I didnt even replied to your blog...this should have been in my own blog......hee hee.
